Alsop High School pupils are building key skills ready for a future in further education as part of the IntoUniversity Programme, which started this half term.

IntoUniversity is a national education charity that works in partnership with schools to help young people reach their full potential and explore future opportunities in education and careers.

This term, the charity has started holding a series of engaging workshops and activities for Alsop High School pupils, which will develop key skills such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving and goal-setting. Pupils have also had the chance to learn more about what university life is like and the exciting pathways open to them after school.

The sessions have already proved to be a great success with pupils showing enthusiasm and curiosity whilst taking part in the interactive lessons and group challenges.

The aim of IntoUniversity is to address the issues of young people from different backgrounds who may struggle to gain the grades needed to go to University. Through after-school study sessions, mentoring meetings and programmes which are created to inspires and supports ambition, the charity provides the dedicated, long term support for young people.

The workshops at Alsop High School have been a great way to encourage pupils to think about their own ambitions and work together to overcome new challenges. We look forward to seeing them continue to grow in confidence and aspiration throughout the rest of the programme.
