Celebrating a Year of Achievement

As another school year comes to an end, Omega Multi-Academy Trust is taking the opportunity to reflect and celebrate the achievements of pupils and staff across its schools.
From inclusion and sustainability projects to wellbeing and enrichment activities, this year has included a range of accomplishments throughout the Trust and we would like to thank staff, pupils, parents, carers and the wider community who have helped make this year such a success.
Earlier this year the Trust began working with the Neuroinclusive Education Network's (NEN) Work-Based CPD Programme. The nationally recognised training programme is helping to strengthen autism awareness and enhance inclusive teaching practices across our schools.
The Trust also introduced its new Climate Action Plan, setting out a clear commitment to embedding sustainability across all areas of education and operations.
Throughout the year, pupils have benefited from a range of different opportunities. Students at Alsop High School took part in the IntoUniversity Programme, helping to raise aspirations and explore future pathways, while Great Sankey High School pupils worked alongside industry professionals during IBM-led workshops focused on Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science.
Learning also extended beyond the classroom through a wide variety of experiences including an unforgettable geography field trip to Iceland, live music performances, theatre visits, sporting competitions and residentials. Pupils also developed important life skills through activities such as Forest School sessions, Mini First Aid training and hospitality experiences.
Supporting mental health and wellbeing has remained a priority across the Trust with schools coming together to mark both World Mental Health Day and Children's Mental Health Week, encouraging kindness, belonging, self-acceptance and positive wellbeing through a range of engaging activities.
The Trust's commitment to inclusion was further recognised this year when Great Sankey High School and Barrow Hall College achieved the nationally accredited Rainbow Flag Award. The achievement reflects the schools' dedication to creating welcoming, inclusive environments where all young people feel valued and supported.
Environmental responsibility has also been a major focus for the year. Pupils took on ambassadorial roles with the Mersey Gateway Environmental Trust, participated in conservation projects and supported initiatives such as Picker Pals, helping to improve local communities while developing a deeper understanding of environmental issues.
Students have also made a significant impact through charitable work and community engagement. Chapelford Village Primary School raised more than £6,000 for St Rocco's Hospice through its Elf Run fundraising event, while students at Barrow Hall College packed 5,000 meals for schools and orphanages in Zimbabwe as part of the Million Meal Miracle Project.
At Great Sankey High School, students earned places in the prestigious Junior Mathematical Olympiad and talented young musicians were given the unique opportunity to compose and perform original music as part of the English National Ballet's Sleeping Beauty Schools Programme.
Across every school in the Trust, pupils taken opportunities to learn, explore and grow through trips, residentials, sporting events, performances and hands-on learning experiences to create lasting memories that will stay with pupils for years to come.
We wish all pupils, staff and families a wonderful summer break and thank everyone for their contribution to another great year.
