National Apprenticeship Week: Exploring Apprenticeship Pathways

This National Apprenticeship Week, we are proud to highlight the positive influence apprenticeships have on both our staff and students. Having previously shared the journeys of Trust staff and college alumni now thriving in their apprenticeship roles, today we look ahead and focus on our current Year 13 students who are actively applying for apprenticeships and mapping out their next steps toward successful careers.
Jessica, is applying for the Level 6 Laboratory Scientist Apprenticeship at United Utilities. Jessica explained, “I chose the apprenticeship pathway to get more work experience whilst completing a degree too. I hope to gain work experience within a lab, alongside doing a degree and am exploring all my options by applying to UCAS for an Environmental Science degree.”
Jessica is fully prepared, making the most of all the support offered by the college and submitting applications for both pathways to cover all her bases. Her commitment exemplifies the proactive approach our students take in planning for their futures.
Alongside Jessica, several other students are embarking on the apprenticeship application journey, with interests ranging from Sports Journalism to Astrophysics and many other fields. Their diverse ambitions highlight the breadth of opportunities apprenticeships can provide and the variety of career paths available.
We are incredibly proud of all our students who are considering apprenticeships as a route to further learning and career development. Their determination and enthusiasm demonstrate the lasting value apprenticeships bring to individuals and the wider community.
