Supporting school wellbeing

As part of World Wellbeing Week 2025, Omega Multi-Academy Trust is taking the opportunity to celebrate the wide range of activities and initiatives our schools deliver throughout the year to support the mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing of pupils.
World Wellbeing Week, which takes place from 24th to 30th June, encourages individuals and communities to reflect on the importance of wellbeing, including mental health, physical activity and social connection.
At the Trust, supporting wellbeing is not limited to a single week. It is a continuous priority that shapes how our schools operate throughout the academic year.
Across a number of our primary schools including Westbrook Old Hall and Park Road Community Primary Schools, the My Happy Mind programme is embedded into the curriculum. Built on the latest research and scientific understanding, this programme equips children with lifelong habits that support positive mental health. It also includes resources for teachers and families, creating a joined-up approach that ensures consistent support at home and in school. By helping pupils build emotional resilience and confidence, the programme plays a key role in preparing them for the challenges of modern life.
Our schools also take part in national campaigns aimed at creating a healthy lifestyle. Chapelford Village Primary School recently took part in Healthy Schools Week, which included a variety of wellbeing-focused activities including physical fitness challenges, Zumba, Meditation and learning about healthy sugar swaps.
Wellbeing at our schools also extends beyond the classroom. Many of our schools use their outside spaces with forest schools and gardening activities. Pupils also have access to a range of clubs and activities that support their development in different ways. Yoga and gardening clubs at our schools, including Burtonwood Community Primary, offer opportunities to practice mindfulness, connect with nature and take responsibility in a relaxed, engaging environment.
For staff across the Trust, wellbeing is also prioritised. All employees have exclusive access to the Omega MAT Plus+ app, which is a comprehensive wellbeing and benefits platform. The app includes a wide range of practical resources, alongside direct support for mental and physical health.
Through Omega MAT Plus+, staff can access 24/7 wellbeing support from the Employee Assistance Programme, speak with a GP through video or phone consultations, and use the Health Assured online portal, which includes a large library of articles, videos, and self-help guides. The app also includes Transform, a suite of wellbeing tools with workout classes, mental health support, healthy recipes, sleep resources, and stress management techniques.
By recognising World Wellbeing Week, the Trust is not only celebrating the work that takes place across its schools but also reinforcing the importance of supporting every child’s wellbeing all year round. Through carefully planned programmes, practical activities and a strong commitment from staff, pupils are being equipped with the tools they need to thrive both now and in the future.
